Winter 2010 Wrap Up

Winter Quarter has been busy here at Coastal Fund. We funded 9 projects for a total of $82,208. That means there’s a ton of new internship opportunities, so head on over to the Opportunities page and see if there’s something there for you!

Our Third Annual Photo Contest was a great success! Coastal Fund received 42 submissions that featured shoreline trash treasures. This year’s winners are 1st Place: Lizz Redd, 2nd Place: Dad Roux-Michollet, 3rd Place: Stuart Halewood.

The Coastal Fund 10 Year Anniversary!

The Coastal Fund would like to thank everyone who attended our 10-year anniversary reception at the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum on May 15. The event was made possible by all of our wonderful supporters, and was dubbed a great success by our staff, guests, and particularly our speakers, Michael Hanrahan and Doreen Farr. $294,275.70 FUNDED 2008/09

The Coastal Fund received $508,475.42 from 56 proposals this past Fall 2008 Winter 2009 and Spring 2009 Annual Funding Cycle. This is by-and-large the largest amount requested from the Coastal Fund and with the passage of the Students Initiative, the student Board of Directors awarded a total of $294,275.70 to projects and programs that best fit the Coastal Fund Mission and Principals

Coastal Service Program

Participate in Coastal Service and receive up to $250 for student group participation. Activities include beach and street clean ups, restoration and tree planting.
